I provide editing services to a range of clients to help make reports, policy briefs, articles and other documents accurate and easy to read. In some projects, I also enjoy working closely with people during the editing process to support the development of their writing skills.
I was Editor of Health Exchange magazine between 2009 – 2013, and produced a quarterly print and online magazine to showcase practical examples of interesting health projects around the world. I both commissioned and wrote articles. Read an issue on women’s health here.
Editorial support and mentoring
In recent months I have had the pleasure of working with researchers at the International Health Policy Program in Thailand, providing editorial and writing support for the publication of academic articles in international journals.
This has been interesting because it is not a straight-forward editing job but rather a more meaningful interaction with the researchers who want to improve their writing. As part of the editing process, I am able to offer advice how to write more clearly, or point out in detail where grammatical mistakes can be easily and consistently corrected.
I have also learnt a great deal from reading and editing their papers, particularly on antibiotic microbial resistance and I enjoy the wealth of research content they send me.
